Appendix A — Care Captain Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
Care Captains serve as the trusted link between The Core and the families we assist. This Code ensures all Captains act consistently with our values of dignity, transparency, and compassion.
2. Commitments
Integrity & Confidentiality
- Protect all personal information shared by families.
- Never post identifiable participant content online without written consent.
- Avoid gossip, judgment, or political discussion while representing The Core.
Compassion & Conduct
- Treat every participant as an equal — not as a “case.”
- Listen first, advise second.
- Attend at least one monthly check-in meeting and one annual event.
- Maintain professional boundaries; no romantic, financial, or personal entanglements.
Transparency & Accountability
- Log every delivery, check-in, and referral in the Core database.
- Report safety concerns or suspected abuse immediately to program leadership.
