⚖️ Core of Volunteers — Violations & Disciplinary Policy
Purpose:
To preserve the integrity, trust, and transparency of The Core of Volunteers and its programs — including the Core C.A.R.E. Program, Reentry Allies, and all affiliated initiatives — this policy establishes how complaints, misconduct, and violations are handled consistently, compassionately, and fairly.
We believe in education first, accountability second, and transparency always.
1️⃣ Core Principles
- Fairness: Every person deserves to be heard and treated with respect.
- Transparency: All disciplinary actions will follow a documented process.
- Proof Over Rumor: No member will be penalized based solely on hearsay or gossip.
- Protection of Trust: When trust or reputation is threatened by verified misconduct, we will act decisively to protect the community.
- Confidentiality: Investigations remain private unless public disclosure is required to defend the organization or prevent harm.
2️⃣ Reporting Violations
- Any member, volunteer, or partner may submit a complaint regarding misconduct, ethical concerns, or value violations.
- Reports should be made directly to a Core Captain, Program Director, or Board Member.
- Complaints are logged in a Confidential Incident Report system for tracking and transparency.
- Anonymous reports are accepted but must include sufficient detail to investigate.
3️⃣ Investigation Process
- Initial Review — The Program Director reviews the report within 7 days.
