The Volunteer Leadership Training Program (VLTP) is how The Core of Volunteers partners with fire departments, EMTs, hospitals, police, and community leadership groups — including veteran organizations, the Lions Club, Rotary, PTAs, and civic alliances — to teach practical readiness skills to the public.

This program creates a bridge between trained professionals and everyday citizens, giving people the knowledge, confidence, and structure to act when disaster strikes.

🧭 PROGRAM PURPOSE

When chaos hits, clarity saves lives.

The VLTP ensures every neighborhood has volunteers who understand:

How to contact and coordinate with emergency services.
How to help safely until professional responders arrive.
Where to go for shelter, supplies, or volunteer coordination.
How to provide calm leadership in moments of uncertainty.

By turning veterans, civic leaders, and first responders into local instructors, we multiply readiness and rebuild trust between citizens and institutions.

🪖 HOW IT WORKS

Step	Description
1. Partner Enrollment	Fire departments, EMTs, hospitals, police, and leadership groups (veteran posts, Lions Clubs, Rotary, etc.) register as Institutional Partners through our portal.
2. Course Development	Partners choose from our catalog of standard Core Training modules or co-create new courses tailored to their expertise and community needs.
3. Community Classes	Partners host short, affordable, interactive classes in person or online. Each course emphasizes practical action and clear safety protocols.
4. Certification & Credit	Participants earn a Core Readiness Badge, counting toward rank progression in Straight to the Core and eligibility for leadership roles.
5. Recognition & Reporting	Partners receive public recognition on the Core Transparency Portal and community dashboard for hours taught and citizens trained.

💸 PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Course Cost	$20–$50 per participant (set by the partner organization).
Revenue Model	100% of class fees go directly to the hosting partner.
Core Role	Marketing, scheduling, certification tracking, and community integration.
Supplies	Partners may include additional material or safety fees as needed.
